a school of teeny checkers plants, growin' together foreverr

along with mishkaah and muhammad assembled we planted all the checkers plants that we'd collected over the past few months, into their tiny cardboard pots and placed them side-by-side in a very colourful tray

initially grown indoors in a spot with about two hours of direct light a day with about two bottle-caps of water for the first few weeks

a few bebz have sprouted, seeee

once the plants had sprouted they were upped to just enough water to moisten the soil through, about 500ml for about 17 seedlings a day

i tried my best not to move them around too much (or at all for that matter) as they were pretty delicate in this phase

the bebz are getting a lil bigger and we can't quite put them into the ground yet since there's nobody to get water them

i spent my lunch break puttin' em into some bigger pots, the flowers are getting tall so they get their own flower pot, especially the cosmos

• the seedlings with their cardboard pots were placed into slightly bigger pots
• potting soil was used with some bonemeal mixed throughout as well as about a teaspoon placed into the hole for each seedling

i did however miscount so the marigold is with the veggies but oh well

today i went outside to look at the bebz and the weather has been super weird and it's been raining like for the past week so they're getting pretty beeg

but also, there was a snailll

i was hanging out with the plants today and it seems that the tomato plant has "leafminers" which are tiny things that crawl around and damage the leaves (the spruce)

so i removed a few leaves and felt extremely depressed. zahrah has recommended just leaving the plants coz apparently they should be fine and i should stop micromanaging them, so that's the plan for now

aunty fatima just spontaneously decided to pluck a leaf off the rocket and give it a taste, she also advised to spray with (i am going to try my best here) some water mixed with epsom to keep the buggies away

these have actually been taking really long and i fear they may be stuck

most of these dudes have flowered and moved on with their lives, but some of them, particularly the basil, parsley, and marigolds seem to be doing well so they've been moved to the boxes
